Part 1[]

Humble Origins[]

Bellerophon was born in 1389 in Corinth to unnamed human parents.

When the city fell to the Ottomans and his parents died during the siege, he was left alone to fend for himself. After a brief period of time in which he resorted to thievery to survive he was eventually captured and sold off as a slave.

When the city was recaptured by the Byzantine Empire he was conscripted in the army with the aim of recapturing the Isthmus of Corinth, in order to keep the Turks away from the Peloponnese peninsula. During his time in the army Bellerophon quickly established himself as a prodigious warrior and cunning tactician, quickly surpassing the best soldiers the Byzantines had to offer in terms of skill despite his young age.

By the time the Hexamilion Wall was rebuilt, Bellerophon had grown to fame due to his skills and leadership, and came to be under the direct command of the Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos.

Growing up in the army he quickly came to realize that his physical abilities were beyond the scope of a normal human, forcing himself to hold back in order to blend in and not be ousted as a monster by his peers and subordinates.

From Transylvania with Love[]

As soon as the campaign ended Bellerophon was approached by a priest belonging to the Eastern Orthodox Church. He invited the warrior to follow him to the capital Constantinople with the intention of introducing him to the Archbishop, however a scant few hours away from the city the travelling group was ambushed by a squad of fallen angels, who then proceeded to massacre the entire expedition before most of them died by his hands. Witnessing one of them flee, he set off towards Constantinople in search of the Archbishop, determined to understand what was going on.

True Longinus

True Longinus, the spear of destiny in its normal state.

Once he reached the inner city he was escorted by uniformed soldiers who called themselves exorcists and led to a walled-off building where he was told that he'd meet the Archbishop in secret, as the cathedral was too conspicuous a place. As soon as they entered the group immediately attacked Bellerophon in an attempt to catch him by surprise away from prying eyes. To his surprise, during the fight he manifested a glowing silvery spear from thin air, which cut through the light swords the exorcists were using, allowing him to make short work of them. After taking their equipment Bellerophon left the city in disguise, convinced that he'd be attacked again if he remained and not trusting his chances while surrounded by an army of probably hostile warriors.

After joining a mercenary group outside the city gates in an effort to blend in, Bellerophon set off north towards the Carpathian mountain range and arrived at Castle Bran later that year. It wasn't long before he began to notice abnormalities which left him extremely paranoid and diffident, such as the ability to understand and speak a language he'd never heard before, see in the dark and smell better than anyone else, as well as feel otherworldly presences. One night Bellerophon's camp was yet again attacked by fallen angels, which he easily dispatched after manifesting his silver spear, however just like last time the same fallen angel managed to flee the battle.

Alone once more he set off towards the closest town when he ran into a hooded figure in the middle of the woods. She introduced herself as the local witch Ioana, who having sensed the fighting taking place nearby had decided to investigate. Once she led him to her cottage, she explained to him the reason behind the recent events and his supernatural abilities: the weapon he summoned was the spear that stabbed Jesus Christ's heart, True Longinus, which granted him a body rich in both light and holy magic.

Thus Bellerophon began his apprenticeship under the witch Ioana, receiving instructions in the arts of alchemy, elemental magic, spirit magic, summoning magic, runes and black magic, together with general history of the supernatural and the creatures he might find around the world. To Ioana's surprise, Bellerophon revealed himself to be particularly gifted in the arts of alchemy, summoning and ironically black magic, specifically curses.

Several years later the cottage was attacked while he was out hunting for ingredients for his lessons and once he returned he found Ioana's corpse with puncture marks on the side of her neck. Overcome by rage he set out with the intention of tracking down the vampires responsible and exact revenge. After following their trail for days he finally reached their lair: a decrepit cemetery that currently housed its coven underneath the catacombs. Bellerophon set about to flood the galleries with light-rich water, intent on forcing the undead to die or run to the mouth of the cave where he was waiting. After massacring the entire cabal in a rage he left the area and began travelling east, with the intention finding a new direction for his life.

Ancalagon-Corinthian

Bellerophon receiving a request for a mission

Bellerophon travelled along the Silk Road towards the east, occasionally working as a mercenary in order to pay for instruction in the magical arts. Several years later he reached India, where he learned that the land was currently suffering a terrible drought due to an evil creature blocking the flow of the rivers from the mountains. Bellerophon amusedly declared that he'd be following his family's tradition and slay the beast himself, setting off towards the Himalayas. On his way there he was approached by an old man with ragged clothing that warned him off his path, only for Bellerophon to answer negatively.

"Why do you insist on walking to your death?"
"Someone must do this or countless people will perish under the creature's tiranny. I am merely the closest and least likely to fail...Quitting at this point would bring me nothing but shame... also I broke three pairs of boots on my way here and I have none left for the return trip hahaha!"

–Indra and Bellerophon

Staring at him in bewilderment the hooded figure broke down into laughter before proclaiming that even if Bellerophon lost he'd make sure he'd be remembered. The old man asked for the name of the man that made him laugh and they traded names, although to the god's amusement Bellerophon did not know who Indra was. Before they parted ways he gifted the warrior a pair of magical boots, although when Bellerophon raised his head to ask about them he found himself alone.

Days later he finally reached his destination and was met with the sight of a serpentine black dragon with a body cloaked in shadows who was resting on a drying riverbed. Sensing his presence the dragon opened his eyes and stared at him before growling. Bellerophon stared right back and stoically asked the beast why he was blocking the rivers, only for the dragon to comment on his foolishness. Scowling, Bellerophon summoned his spear and asked again. This time Vritra got up and spew black fire towards him. Countering the attack with a blast of light from the True Longinus, the Corinthian warrior smirked and commented that come tomorrow he'd add "dragonslayer" to his titles, running around the dragon while exchanging fire and shadows with light beams and spells.

Taking advantage of the poor visibility caused by the detonations, Bellerophon formed a magic circle of acceleration before him and threw the spear at the beast, piercing Vritra's stomach, before recalling it to his hand. Furious, Vritra took off to the skies but the human managed to grab onto his tail and began to climb his back while the dragon attempted to shake him off. Just as he finally reached the middle of his back Vritra changed tactics and rammed a mountainside with his back in an effort to shake him, only for Bellerophon to slide towards the stomach. Having regained his bearings, Vritra used the tentacles on his back to smack him away.

Having landed back on the mountain, Bellerophon resigned himself to wait for an opening while taunting the dragon. With his mind clouded by anger, Vritra visibly sucked in air before widening his fire-filled mouth, but before he could blast him away, Bellerophon slammed his palm on the ground and commanded a pillar of rock to rise from the earth, impacting the black dragon's jaw and forcing his mouth shut.

Letting out a roar of pain Vritra left himself open to Bellerophon's attack, who jumped in the air and generated a massive blade of light with the True Longinus before bringing it down on the dragon's back, cutting min in half and causing the ground beneath them to collapse along with the mountainside, forcing Bellerophon to ride the avalanche of rocks with an outraged dragon bent on killing him before he died. When he reached the bottom the bloody carcass of the Dragon King slammed into him, pinning him to the ground where he finally fell unconscious.

When he eventually came to it was already night and he noticed that not only was his arm alright but that he was no longer trapped beneath Vritra. Letting his eyes wander his surroundings he zeroed in on the only other living being nearby, a familiar face who was currently stirring a campfire. Getting up and ignoring his blood-soaked body, Bellerophon waddled forward before sitting at the campfire in silence. After a while the old man slid a pair of gold-lined boots towards him and cryptically told him that he'd be watching his progress from now on. Before departing the King of Gods revealed his true appearance and advised him to travel to Mount Meru and to look for "a monkey", while also mentioning that a dragon's body was a treasure all on it's own.

When the first lights of dawn broke out Bellerophon got up and began salvaging Vritra's carcass, which he then covered in preservation runes before sealing them away inside a pocket space. With his business completed Bellerophon set out towards the direction Indra indicated, finally finding a spiritually rich area several weeks after his departure.

Ancalagon-flame

Bellerophon training his pyrokinesis.

When Bellerophon reached the peak of Mount Sumeru he found an old temple and upon entry he was met with the sight of what was probably the "monkey" the Hindu deity spoke of, who introduced himself as Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven. The Buddha asked for Bellerophon's purpose in visiting his temple and when the warrior said that Indra sent him Sun Wukong replied that his was not his purpose. Despite this the former Yōkai allowed him to remain in the temple and aided him finding a purpose in life, eventually training him in advanced combat techniques, ancient and rare spells along with meditation and eventually senjutsu, the latter of which required him to receive mystical tattoos on his back and arms in order to allow him to synchronize with the world's natural energy without the need to meditate.

Among the other occupants of the temple was the Dragon King Yu Long, who was convinced to instruct him in his newly acquired draconic abilities, specifically Umbrakinesis and Pyrokinesis. Several years after having begun his training Bellerophon resumed his travelling around the world.

From the Lowest Dungeon to the Highest Peak[]

Despite the great power he had acquired over the years Bellerophon recognised that as a human he simply couldn't take as much damage as he could dish out. Eventually he concluded that obtaining a set of armor made from Vritra's scales would go a long way into fixing that and set off towards his old home. When he finally returned to Greece he was almost seventy years old but it didn't look like he had aged a day since he slayed Vritra, suspecting Vritra's blood to be responsible for his long life. After he found a ship that could transport him to his final destination he set sail towards the island of Lemnos, which according to legends was the volcanic home of the Greek God of Blacksmiths, Hephaestus.

As soon as he set foot on the island his senjutsu allowed him to feel a divine aura which led him to the maw of the volcano. When he finally reached the peak he found himself in the presence of the entity he had sought, who immediately identified him as the descendant of the Greek Hero Bellerophontes, making him distantly related to the God of the Seas, Poseidon. Presenting him a piece of the dragon's corpse, he requested an armor and weapon worthy of a dragonslayer.

Hephaestus eventually agreed because he longed to work on materials such as those but as his only condition he requested Bellerophon to bring him titan's blood. Although shocked by the request the warrior ended up agreeing to the god's demand. After giving him an urn to collect the blood into and the Cloak of the Revenant to hide his presence, Hephaestus hurled Bellerophon to the pit of Tartarus, the only place where he could find a titan.

Ancalagon-Tartarus

The hellish prison of Tartarus.

Once Bellerophon awakened he found himself in the hellish landscape of Tartarus. Concluding that stealth would be the only course of action possible to him, as he would be swarmed by every manner of creature held prisoner if discovered, Bellerophon set off in a random direction, hoping to find a clue on the titan's whereabouts. Despite his mental training the almost timelessness of the place, the anxiety and fear of being discovered and the necessity of drinking the fiery contents of the river Phlegethon to remain alive got the better of him and his mind slipped further and further into insanity and desperation, coming to regret ever taking Hephaestus' deal. Having almost lost any semblance of rationality, Bellerophon finally located the unmistakable presence of an elder god and his search concluded when he laid eyes on the dismembered form of the Lord of Time Kronos.

After carefully yet erratically approaching the eternally bleeding pieces of the titan, Bellerophon pulled out the urn Hephaestus gave him and set it down in the pool of blood by his feet. After having filled the urn he placed it back into its pocket dimension and saw that his hands were slick with the titan's blood, which in his maddened state he swallowed, convinced that it would help him escape Tartarus.

It didn't take long before he began to feel hot and nauseous, while bursting with energy at the same time. Eventually his legs gave out and he finally collapsed, screaming in pain as his body convulsed while emitting more and more power. As all manner of creatures became attracted by what was happening and made to reach for him, his body begun to rip apart itself apart, with light shining from the cracks until it exploded outwards, releasing a massive shapeless blob from within.

Ancalagon-reborn

Bellerophon's stabilised form following his rebirth.

The surrounding area was wrecked by temporal anomalies and firestorms while his body gradually took a draconic shape. After the frenzied emission of energy subsided and his form became more stable he burst upwards, cratering the ground he was standing on and smashing his cranium against the ceiling of Tartarus. Roaring in rage and pain he covered his entire body in flames and circled around before impacting against the same spot with the power of a comet, creating a hole that led to the Hades' Netherworld. After soaring over the Land of the Dead for a while he departed to the Dimensional Gap when he sensed the God's presence approaching. Once there his wildly fluctuating power started going out of control again and he opted to enter a meditative trance until it stabilised, while simultaneously trying to alleviate the mental damage his permanence in Tartarus caused him.

The Witcher[]

After countless years the black dragon finally stirred from his trance, his power having settled down and his mind once again stable, and took stock of the situation he found himself in. Seeing an old man sitting on his now massive stomach prompted him to pluck the offender by the hood of his cloak before placing him directly in front of his eye and demanding to know who and what the stranger was doing. Staring at his massive eye blankly the unknown being introducing himself as Ophis. Remembering the name from his memories he interrogated the Dragon God in order to fill in the gaps in his disjointed memory and once satisfied he ignored him in order to start working on what to do from now on.

Realising that he would be unable to live in seclusion like Ophis seemed to, Bellerophon started formulating plans on how to leave the Dimensional Gap and go back to how he used to live before but immediately found his current body unsuitable for the task, which he fixed by shapeshifting into something close to his old appearance and covering it in an array of seals and runes to drastically reduce the power it leaked, in order to make him pass for a being much weaker that he actually was, thus reducing the attention he would receive.

Finally emerging from the Dimensional Gap, clad in the Cloak of the Revenant, Bellerophon decided to close that chapter of his life by going back to Lemnos to fulfill his part of the bargain with Hephaestus. Although initially surprised and even angered to see him again, having hoped for Bellerophon to die for good, Hephaestus reluctantly set himself to work on a sword and armor. Happy to finally leave the island, Bellerophon went on to wander the world yet again in an effort to reconnect with it, starting his journey by teleporting towards Western Europe, which he always wanted to visit but couldn't because of the heavy presence of the church.

Once he reached England under the cover of his cloak he set off towards an inhabited area close by from which he smelled the pungent odour of sulphur, arriving at a small village by the name of Appletreewick. After avoiding the sentries placed outside the village walls and speaking with the townsfolk he concluded that the recent events that surrounded the town, mostly unexplained deaths, were the work of a supernatural creature that nested nearby.

He set off towards the most likely place where he could find the responsible entity: a limestone gorge known as Troller's Gill where the smell was the strongest, signifying the otherworldly nature of the accused. Identifying the culprit as a Barghest, a spectral hound, Bellerophon sidestepped the lunge and chopped its neck in mid-air, snapping it. Before leaving the area he collected whatever ingredients he could find on the creature's corpse and set off towards the town to get his reward.

Ancalagon-Warlock

The warlock that attacked Bellerophon.

As soon as he reached the outside walls he was accosted by a man who thanked him for his work and invited him to his home a little ways outside town for the night. Seeing the gem on his sword, Dragonfang, shining from the malicious intent the stranger emitted towards him, he decided to humor him, confident that nothing the spellcaster could do would be able to hurt him. As soon as they reached the countryside the man cast a sleep spell on Bellerophon who decided to play along by falling bonelessly on the ground.

After pretending to wake up, the warlock launched himself in a monologue on his plans for the town before the door to the hovel exploded inwards and an armored figure rushed inside. The exorcist wordlessly lunged at the magician and while the two figures fought for dominance, Bellerophon watched with a keen eye for the outcome of the fight. Having seen enough, Bellerophon snapped his binds before piercing the spellcaster's heart with a spear of light while simultaneously casting a sleep spell on the surprised exorcist. He immediately began looking through the mage's library for Grimoires, quickly finding a few behind a concealment rune.

After a few hours of study he was interrupted by a wide magical circle that suddenly appeared in the middle of the room, from which a blonde-haired man with a nobleman’s attire emerged. As soon as he saw the magician's corpse and a hooded man staring at him his face immediately became cold and dispassionate. Introducing himself as Bedeze Abaddon he coldly inquired as to the reason for the warlocks death, receiving no response other than a careless shrug. Having lost his patience, the Devil summoned a barrier around the property before blasting the unknown killer with a demonic sword. Neatly dodging the blade, he switched the cloak for his new Abyssal Armor with the intent of testing it out and let himself be hit directly, suffering no damage. Bellerophon fired back a few spells at the surprised Devil, who used his Power of Hole to redirect the magic attacks back at him in tandem with projected demonic weaponry.

Ancalagon-Swordsmanship

Grabbing one of the blades and deflecting the others, Bellerophon covered the distance and stabbed Bedeze in the shoulder, pinning him to the wall. The devil began pleading for his life, which Bellerophon acquiescenced by punching him through the wall in disgust. Feeling the devil teleport away he tampered with the exorcist's memory, making him believe to have killed the warlock by himself, before changing back to his cloak.

Just as he left the immediate area he sensed a familiar presence and decided to wait and see by hiding in the shadow of a rock by the side of the road. After a moment a figure with multiple pairs of black wings emerged from the house, looking around before spotting a trail of bloody footprints which led to him. Calmly making her way over while he allowed himself to fade into being, the figure introduced herself as Penemue and immediately asked him what had happened in this place, to which Bellerophon responded that he didn't know. When the fallen angel asked him if he was sure with a lopsided smile on her face, Bellerophon let his eyes shine through, claiming that the exorcist did it before melting into the shadows whilst chuckling.

The Land of Snow[]

Unwilling to remain so close to where he encountered the Cadre, Bellerophon decided to head towards the Scandinavian peninsula to get further away from the biblical faction. He made his way by boat towards his objective, reaching a harbour in the Jutland Peninsula and setting sail headed north. After sailing for a while his boat was sunk by the emerging form of the Dragon King Midgardsormr, who appeared to be in the process of waking up. After opening his eyes and staring at him for a few moments, the humongous serpent fell asleep again.

Irked at the dismissive behaviour of the Dragon King, Bellerophon blasted his form to wake him up before equipping his Abyssal Armor and Dragonfang, leaping towards the dragon. Countering the dragon's fire breath with his own, he landed on the dragon with the intention of chipping away at him with his sword but Midgardsormr shook him off before biting him. Before he could clench his jaws Bellerophon wreathing his body in cursed black fire, forcing the dragon to spew him out before resuming the exchange. The fight ended after the dragon-blooded knight punched Midgardsormr's chin with Toki, the force of the hit pulling his body out of the sea. Declaring that the winner of the exchange was plain for all to see, Bellerophon equipped his Cloak of the Revenant and teleported towards the coast.

Brynhildr

Göndul smiling at Bellerophon.

Bellerophon made his way towards the city he could sense before he noticed a powerful magical presence nearby. Concentrating on the signature he recognised traces of divinity in it and prepared himself to fight a demigod, probably a Valkyrie. Having decided that hiding would serve no purpose now that his fight with Midgardsormr probably alerted the entire Norse Pantheon of his presence, Bellerophon made his way over to her with the intention of resolving the issue before it worsened. After dredging through the snow for a while he came upon the Norse warrior, who seemed to have been waiting for him.

He was carefully approaching the armored figure when the woman looked over to him and gave him a weak smile, followed by a lightning-fast lunge in his direction that caused him to crash his back against a tree. Catching himself just in time to deflect her heavy spear to the side with his sword, Bellerophon returned the favour by kicking her in the stomach, blasting her away. Before the Norse got into casting position he produced several light spears, which detonated violently against the ground and propelled her through the treeline. Equipping his armor, Bellerophon charged her with Dragonfang with the intent of disabling her.

Light Spears

Light spears detonating

Releasing a slash of fire in her direction to distract her, he leapt in her direction when he noticed that she had formed a doppelganger when the real Valkyrie flew at him from above. Reorienting himself in midair he managed to deflect her spear, causing her to lose her grip on it, grab her forearm and swing her hard against the ground, although before she hit the ground she managed to cast a spell that made him lose his grip on Dragonfang.

Before she could capitalise on it he closed in and they began exchanging blows, although it quickly became clear that she favored her spells over her fists. Bellerophon punched her solar plexus, kicked her through a line of trees and finally elbowdropped her to the ground, snaking his arm around her throat until unconsciousness claimed her.  When she wokee up, her body thoroughly sealed, Bellerophon gave her the chance to explain her actions. A couple of moments passed before she told him that she was sent by Odin to investigate the situation, specifically his intention. He stared at her for a while and after making sure she didn't lie he gave her a condescending smile and asked her why she attacked him instead of doing just asking. When she answered that it would've been quicker to remove him altogether instead of questioning him he began muttering to himself, before removing the seals from her body and walking away towards the nearest town at a quick pace. A few minutes later he heard her approaching from behind and snorted, but didn't slow down.

Several years passed during which Bellerophon travelled all throughout the peninsula in search of interesting things, dutifully followed by Göndul in her capacity of "babysitter", as he liked to refer to it to her consternation. At an unspecified point in time she accompanied him to meet Odin, with whom he got along famously, and several other Norse gods. While his relationship with the Valkyrie was frosty in the beginning it gradually got better, to the point where they begun trading lessons in combat and magic alike. When Bellerophon finally decided to move on and visit a new place, satisfied with what he had learned in his time among the Norse, he bid his new friend goodbye and, after promising to return one day, he gave her a parting joked before he teleporting away.

"Who knows Göndul, by the time I return you might even get married with a few kids! Hahahahaa...yeah, like that would ever happen."
"BELLEROPHOOON!!!"

–Bellerophon and Göndul

Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita...[]

When he emerged to his new destination, the Underworld, he donned the Cloak of the Revenant and headed for the forest close by, hoping it would be a good place for him to rest before setting out. As he walked through the woods he noticed that this forest was rich with all kinds of creatures and remembered his old teacher Ioana mentioning that many came to places such as this to obtain so called Familiars.

He began walking in earnest while keeping his senses primed for the most interesting ones, looking forwards to acquiring one himself. After a while he dodged sideways just as a black blur shot past him, disappearing in the forest ahead. Smelling the scent of a dragon he began jogging after the little animal with a grin on his face. Feeling it about to take another pass at him he grabbed his cape just as a purple bolt whizzed past his head, throwing the cloth in the dragon's trajectory only to see the little being nimbly dodge it and fly away. Deciding that little dragon would be his no matter what, Bellerophon ran after it.

Ancalagon-Blue Flame Formation

The Blue Flame Formation.

After almost an hour of running after each other he decided that a heavier approach would be necessary, even though it would probably attract a lot of attention. As soon as he felt the diminutive creature initiating another bombing run the tips of his fingers were enveloped in blue flames, which he swiped in front of him and summoned a blue cylindrical barrier around his position, trapping them inside. Knowing that it wouldn't be long before someone came checking, Bellerophon removed the cloak and lunged at his prey, grabbing it by the tail and keeping it suspended while dodging a point blank blast of purple fire.

Flipping over the little dragon he dispelled the barrier and looked it in the eyes before the diminutive form licked his hand. Taking that as a sign of approval he performed the ritual to bind them together before placing the small reptile on his shoulder, feeling it drape itself over it. Before he could don his cloak again he noticed a massive presence getting closer and cursed himself for losing his awareness. Bellerophon sent the small dragon away from the area while he prepared to confront the incoming threat with his Abyssal Armor and Dragonfang resting in his hand.

The massive form landed with a tremor before standing up at about fifteen meters tall. Introducing himself as Tannin he asked for his name, to which Bellerophon responded that he would tell him if he managed to survive. Grinning in anticipation at the offered challenged, Tannin began studying his adversary with Bellerophon following in tow. After staring at each other for a while they finally burst forward with flame breaths ready in their mouth, clashing with red and black fire.

After a while their fight was interrupted by the arrival of a blue western dragon, who immediately engaged both while shouting angrily at them for disturbing her peaceful rest. Concluding that this was Tiamat, Bellerophon joyfully declared this to be a three way battle from now on, with Tannin enthusiastically agreeing. Eventually the three cautiously laid down on the grass to recuperate. The fight came to an official end when Tiamat shifted to her humanoid form and asked him who he was, to which he responded by giving them his name and claiming to be Vritra's slayer. Having suspected this by the nature of the flames he employed they merely acknowledged the claim, before Tannin departed saying that it had been a pleasure fighting him but he had duties to attend to.

A scant few seconds passed after he left before Bellerophon gave Tiamat the reason for his visit in her apparent domain, summoning the diminutive spectre dragon as proof of his word to her. Giving him a sly smile she stood up before telling him that he'd do well to visit again before walking away. Smiling in response and telling her that he'd definitely do that, Bellerophon rose up and departed in the opposite direction, headed towards a devil town with the intent of finding out how devils really lived and if they were as depraved as the Bible said.

Over the following years he travelled from city to city in disguise and concluded that while devils were not as horrible as the Bible portrayed them to be, their culture was both stagnant and heavily reliant on humanity, finding that they had little to no drive to either improve themselves or the world at large by spreading their knowledge, selfishly hoarding as much to themselves as possible. On top of that, despite looking like humans, they are divergent existences to humanity and as such they could never fully coexist with them, behaving more like parasites than symbiontes.

Just as he was about to leave the area, intent on reaching the capital city and infiltrate its library, he saw a familiar face in the crowd while accompanied by an armed escort. Recognising him as Bedeze Abaddon, Bellerophon smirked and melted in the shadows, tailing the devil's entourage until it reached a mansion outside the outskirts of the city. Letting them enter while he worked on bypassing the barrier outside, Bellerophon jumped through an open window and knocked out a maid before she gave the alarm, planting a sleep rune on her forehead and stuffing her in a wardrobe.

Moving through the hallways silent as a wraith, Bellerophon evaded most of the guards he found but was still forced to drop a few, until he concentrated on Bedeze's presence and found him behind a warded off area in the basement. Musing that any dirty secret the devil might have could likely be found there, Bellerophon started working on the wards and finally managed to break in. Once inside he saw what could be called a pen in which humans were herded like cattle, with his target moving to an adjacent room in the company of a glassy-eyed woman.

With the memories of his own enslavement coming at the forefront of his mind, Bellerophon dropped the cloak and summoned the True Longinus in his hand before creating a Blue Flame Formation within the crypt, making it impossible for anyone to teleport or pass through. Although the devil's peerage was upon him in a matter of seconds he easily handled them through a combination of stabs, slashes and Light Magic. Looking again at the humans he noted that none of them seemed aware of what happened, their minds likely too far gone.

Moving in on Bedeze's position he stabbed though the walls and was rewarded by a string of curses, but no shout of pain. Pulling the spear back he punched the wall with tōki, turning the stones into gravel and propelling them at Bedeze. Feeling the devil channelling his power, Bellerophon fired a spell at him only to watch as it entered a black hole and exited from another, now headed in his direction. Releasing the spell before it hit him, Bellerophon formed dozens of golden circles behind his back from which a shower of light spears emerged, hurtling in Bedeze's direction.

Although his technique was superior to the last time they met, the devil was unable to fend off all the light weapons and was consequently hit several times, until he found himself pinned to the wall. Dismissing his sacred gear, Bellerophon calmly walked towards him and liftied the devil's face so that he could look at him before summoning the Abyssal Armor. Having seen enough of Bedeze's Power of Hole and believing himself capable of replicating it given enough time, Bellerophon grabbed the devils head with both hands and slowly applied more pressure, until it gave in.

Ancalagon-Umbrakinesis

Bellerophon's Shade challenging the Ultimate-Class devil.

After cleansing his armor of the foul liquids he turned his attention back to the entrance of the basement, noticing that the barrier he put there was taking damage. Acknowledging that an Ultimate-Class devil likely appeared as a result of the several unconscious guards he left in his wake, Bellerophon looked back at the humans and decided that killing them would be a mercy. Crouching on the ground, Bellerophon began to murmur an incantation and soon thick black shadows peeled away his armor, leaving it standing on its own.

Commanding the Shade to attack the devils outside he dropped the barrier and slipped past the fighting, intent of raiding the Abaddon library. When he deemed to have taken all he could he shot through the ceiling and when he found himself floating several hundred meters above the building he pointed his hand downwards and used Etherion, an extremely condensed sphere of holy light magic which smashed through the remains of the mansion and finally exploded in a spectacular explosion of light, killing everyone in the blast radius.

Having had enough of the Underworld for a lifetime he went back to Tiamat, who became a close friend of his over the years, to inform her of what he had just done and to ask her to keep her ears open just in case. Telling her that he'd be attempting something, Bellerophon headed for the Dimensional Gap.

The Shield World[]

Having reflected on his nature, Bellerophon mused that he was the only "god" that he knew of that didn't belong to a pantheon, and the only one with no personal dominion. Resolving to fix that he began studying the tomes he requisitioned from the devil's library and pooled all his knowledge on boundary field creation, dedicating himself to creating a stable dimension, which he eventually called Aetherius. During the following years he not only perfected the stability of this new world but also developed the Aurbis, which contained all the necessary systems required to not only control several aspects of the dimension but also to render it autonomous.

Once he filled the Alveus with Ophis' help, he concentrated on creating the Citadel, a fortress dedicated to protecting his various research laboratories. In one of these labs, after several years of heavy experimentation, he finally succeeded in creating an artificial human body, dubbed Avatar. Deeming the result unsatisfactory but promising, Bellerophon mused to himself that if he could create a perfect vessel for himself then he could also develop a sealing array capable of sealing himself within the body while letting him control it at the same time.

When he finally succeeded in his endeavour he applied on the body the mystical tattoos that Sun Wukong had placed on his original body long ago and then inscribed the Divine Dragon Coffin Seal, which proceeded to suck him within the body while at the same time giving him control of it.

In order to render Aetherius hidden from prying eyes, Bellerophon developed the Concelarium, a system that would cloak its presence and stop everyone from accessing it via teleportation. Once in place he created a special portal inside a valley and after deciding on where to place its twin, Bellerophon travelled to the Moon, building the second portal within a cave on its dark side to prevent anyone from accidentally finding it. In order to guard the valley he began working on the Aetherius Sentinels.

The Land of the Rising Sun[]

A few years later he finally arrived in Japan and decided to look for the Yōkai that inhabited the place. Once he located a great concentration of them in the city of Kyoto, he made his way over there while evading the armed forces that patrolled the city. Sensing a barrier around the inner city he entered without bothering to bypass it and was soon after approached by a squad of Shinsengumi that demanded to know what a foreigner magician's business was in the Yōkai capital.

Not believing his claim to be a visitor they made to arrest him and Bellerophon decided to see if the East's swordsmanship was as great as he had heard, by making a show of placing his hand on the pommel of Dragonfang. Taking notice of the tensing of their frames, Bellerophon smirked and told them to leave if they wanted to go home that night. Ignoring his threat, the squad drew their katana and engaged him but were quickly cut down to a man, leaving only the captain alive to fend off his attacks.

Although he was holding back, Bellerophon noticed that this opponent was vastly superior to the others in terms of skills and wanted to see if he could impress him, although he quickly took notice that he was already breathing heavily and looking pale. Wondering if he was sick, Bellerophon grabbed the swordsman's wrist, carrying it up, while simultaneously delivering an elbow strike to the sternum and a kick to the supporting leg, bringing the japanese man down and placing an immobilisation rune. With the man immobilised he used senjutsu to figure out what his ailment was and felt a veritable nest of Yōkai inside the man, using his skills to wipe them out and return him to full functionality.

Admiring his newly recovered lungs and heart, the swordsman introduced himself as Okita Sōji and thanked him, before resuming his stance and proclaiming that it was his earnest wish to fight someone to the bitter end. Nodding his assent, Bellerophon resumed his stance and the two began trading blows. After a while Okita seemed to be lagging and took a different stance, unleashing his Three-Stage Thrust technique on Bellerophon, who was caught by surprise and only managed to parry two of the strikes while receiving a deep cut to the shoulder.

Hahaha you bastard! Had I been any slower you would have surely killed me...but I had fun.

You are indeed a great swordsman but unfortunately it seems you can no longer dance so, in thanks for the great time I've had, I will kill you!

–Bellerophon to Okita Sōji

Smirking, Bellerophon resumed the fight and when Okita attempted to stab him, he caught the blade between the twin prongs of Dragonfang and twisted sharply, shattering the katana. Having disarmed his opponent, Bellerophon ttook a Bājíquán stance and unleashed a heavy punch that sent Okita flying against a building, killing him by crushing his ribcage. Noticing the horrified crowd that had gathered around the duelists, Bellerophon jumped on a roof and sprinted away, losing his pursuers in the dwindling streets of Kyoto. At dawn he left the city, headed towards the closest temple to continue his journey while waiting for the commotion he caused to die down.

After leaving the outer walls of the city he stopped and decided to confront his stalker, who turned out to be a small child. The hooded form asked him to bring her with him, making him snort. Feeling in a good mood he decided to ask the girl to provide him a good reason for bringing her with him. The girl told him that she could hunt and take care of herself but was rebuffed. Having almost given up she offered her help as a guide, which interested him, and prompted him to tell her that she could come but only if she told him why she wanted to leave with a stranger. Before she could answer a man showed up on the road and made his way over to them, with the young girl hiding behind Bellerophon, who figured the reason just showed up.

He decided to deliberately act clueless to taunt the other man and was rewarded with a glare. Claiming that the girl was his he demanded her back and Bellerophon, who turned to her, asked the child to explain the situation. She went on telling him that she was a slave in all but name, with the other man denying it and threatening him to move. With amused tolerance, Bellerophon gestured for the man to come to him.

Having lost his patience, the human pulled out a pistol and fired at him. Surprised by the unexpected attack, Bellerophon barely dodged before covering the distance between them in the blink of an eye and slamming the target's head against a tree, killing him. Ignoring the cries of the girl, he picked up the weapon the man used, inspected it, and put it away before setting the corpse on fire and leaving, telling the girl to either follow him or not.

Ancalagon-Umbra

Umbra during her travels with Bellerophon.

In the following years the duo travelled through all of Japan, visiting shrines and training while making sure to stay clear of warzones. As the girl turned out to be a Nekoshō with black hair and yellow eyes, Bellerophon decided to change her name into Umbra, on the grounds that her previous life was over and this was a fresh start, in addition to her having a penchant for trying to sneak up on him, although never actually succeeding.

Their relationship over the years became the father-daughter type, with Umbra having decided to follow him in his travels around China, after Japan was thoroughly explored. Eventually she decided to go back to Japan and settle down, something Bellerophon wasn't too enthusiastic about but understood. Kissing her forehead, they finally parted ways after giving her a magic ring, which would allow him to track her if the need ever arose.

Red and Black[]

In the year 1883, just after coming back from a surprise visit at Göndul, who had become a mother a few years before, Bellerophon decided to explore the islands in the Pacific Ocean but after reaching Indonesia he felt a draconic signature headed his way. Curious, he leaned back on a tree and waited until a human with a red armored gauntlet walked before him.

Their meeting quickly devolved into a fight after Bellerophon deliberately provoked Belzard and they began trading blows while the dragon-blooded knight used telepathy to speak with Draig, who seemed surprised by the intrusion. The fight kicked up a notch when the human entered Balance Breaker and started firing blasts of energy at him, with Bellerophon responding by binding him down with Umbrakinesis. After Belzard finally broke free he saw his opponent holding the True Longinus and, with a mad grin on his face, he excitedly proclaimed that their fight would now be a deathmatch, challenging Bellerophon to go all out before telling him that it was no use anyway.

When the Boosted Gear user began chanting to enter Juggernaut Drive, despite Draig's protests, Bellerophon equipped the Abyssal Armor. Proclaiming his disappointment at his opponent's suicidal action, Bellerophon charged in and the fight resumed with the collision of their fists, which released tremors. They soon began to fly above the clouds, still trading blows and spells while they moved away from their original position, eventually grappling and crashing down on a volcanic island.

Ancalagon-White Void Shpere

The explosion caused by Etherion

Having decided that the fight had gone on long enough and that his enemy was running out of lifeforce to burn, he decided to end it with a final attack. After landing a barrage of senjutsu strikes to cripple his opponent, Bellerophon flew up in the air and pointed the True Longinus towards Belzard, gathering more and more power before releasing Etherion against the form of the Red Dragon Emperor, who countered with a Longinus Smasher. The beam struggle continued for a while but Belzard's rapidly draining energy couldn't keep it up, eventually letting the bomb smash him deeper into the volcano, destroying the island in a titanic blast. After he made sure that his opponent's presence vanished, Bellerophon deemed the fight concluded and left towards Aetherius.

After a few decades passed he finally decided to visit Umbra, who at this point was an old woman. Reuniting with his daughter was a bittersweet event for him, who unlike her maintained his youthful appearance. They talked for a few days about his adventures, her family and the current situation around the globe, which was in the middle of a second World War.

Parting ways for the last time, Bellerophon made his way west towards a port city with the intention of catching a boat towards Korea, but his plans were interrupted when an extremely powerful dragon made itself known to him. A man with a black coat, black and blonde hair as well as heterochromic eyes was looking at him from the side of the mountain road. Recognizing him as the Evil Dragon Crom Cruach, Bellerophon hazarded a guess that he was here to fight him and, getting a nod in response, they both dashed forward.

Bellerophon quickly realised that this opponent was much more challenging than Belzard, making him grin in delight and forcing him to rely on a combination of True Longinus, senjutsu and tōki to barely keep his opponent at bay. Their fight went on until they hit the ground near a port city. Making space between themselves to study their enemy anew and let him catch his breath, Bellerophon noticed a black dot descending rapidly in the distance. Suspecting this to be some manner of bomb, he was unprepared when the object suddenly exploded in a massive flash, blinding and deafening him. Realising that his eyes and ears had been destroyed by the explosion, he barely dodged Crom Cruach who had entered his dragon form and lunged at him. With his opponent giving him no respite, Bellerophon was quickly overwhelmed.

Despite his armor welding his bones and stitching his wounds together, he recognised that it was futile and conceded the fight to Crom. Before the Evil Dragon could deliver his coup de grace, Bellerophon unsummoned his gear and shut the Divine Dragon Coffin Seal, releasing control on the Avatar and activating its safety mechanism which burned it away. Following his first defeat in centuries, Bellerophon engraved the fight in his mind, determined to do everything he could to make sure next time would go differently. He spent the following years working extensively to improve not only his combat skills but also the Divine Dragon Coffin Seal, the Sentinels and several other Aetherius' subsystems.

Noting that Ophis, who now sported a decidedly different form, left the Dimensional Gap much more often than she used to, on top of bringing up her desire for silence whenever they talked, he finally asked her what was going on. As soon as she told him of her creation, named Khaos Brigade, and the kind of members that composed it he bluntly told her that she was the most naive person he ever met, warning her that they would turn on her. Smiling, she told him that it was impossible and he scoffed, telling her that time would agree with him, before she asked him to join too and help her, which he denied. When he awoke from his sleep he found his dragon familiar, Skiá, taking a nap next to him with Ophis.

A few moments later Bellerophon pulled Ophis in a hug from behind and asked her where he should travel next. Telling him to go to America, as he never went there despite hearing of its discovery so long ago, she also added that the magical community there, by virtue of being much younger, was bound to have many mages who fled from Europe and Asia due to prosecution. With his mind made up he went to the citadel and entered an Avatar before heading towards Canada. Once there he decided to visit the closest city but a blizzard heavily reduced his vision by covering everything in snow, making it extremely difficult for him to see where he was going. Using his other senses to navigate the storm he barely dodged the creature that snuck upon him, identifying it as a manticore.

Ancalagon-Manticore

Bellerophon against the manticore.

Forming a blade of darkness in his hand, the warrior beckoned the beast to come to him with a grin on his face. Looking out for the tail, as soon as the beast lunged forward he dodged sideways while slashing at the right paw, slicing it off and earning a shriek of pain from the animal. Driven by rage the beast tried to bite him while attempting to corner him with its stinger, which was promptly cut off. Finally he decided to end their fight by impaling the roof of the Manticore's mouth, ending its suffering.

After scavenging every rare material he could from the animal, Bellerophon incinerated the remains and set off towards the closest town he could find. Once there he sensed the presence of a powerful Angel nearby but, hoping to be ignored, he went to a local tavern and ordered something to fill his stomach, but as soon as he began eating a voice asked if the booth was free to sit in. Bellerophon saw a young boy sitting down in front of him, with an angelic smile on his face and a glint in his eye. A quick application of magic forced the other patrons to concentrate on something else. The young exorcist in training Dulio Gesualdo asked what he was doing around here, mentioning that he had taken a contract for a monster that was prowling this area when he found his freshly killed quarry in the middle of a blizzard.

Ignoring the question outright, Bellerophon asked what he wanted from him and Dulio adopted a thinking pose, answering that he was satisfied as it was before turning to him and asking him the same question. Smiling, he decided to tell him that he planned on travelling this continent out of curiosity. Dulio lit up and told him that he too wanted to go on an adventure but his duties wouldn't let him, before taking his leave. During his stay at the inn Bellerophon found a copy of a scientific journal and decided to try reading it and, despite being unfamiliar with many of the terms used inside, he was immediately drawn in by the complexity of the works described inside. Making a note to acquire more reading materials to better study the contents of the publications, Bellerophon finally went to sleep. In the morning the blizzard was still going on outside as Bellerophon headed for the bus stop. Jumping on the large vehicle, he continued his journey through America, with him buying several books on chemistry, physics, maths, engineering and astronomy to keep himself busy whenever he wasn't travelling.

Over the following years Bellerophon kept travelling south from place to place, meeting new people and learning their customs. Eventually he crossed the isthmus of Panama and entered the southern part of the American continent, intent on traversing the vast Amazonian jungle, visiting old mesoamerican sites and meeting the local tribes.

Deal with the Devil[]

One night he felt a distinct itch originating from the platinum ring he had given Umbra so long ago and teleported towards the ring's position out of curiosity. Right in front of his eyes he saw a spit copy of his foster daughter running towards a forest while firing spells at a veritable army of devils. Deciding to trust his instincts he fired a shower of light spears before the devil lines. Arrogantly asking them to convince him not to kill them all with a smirk on his face, they told him that they were tracking a stray devil that killed her master. Without looking he inclined his head towards the girl behind him and she answered that she killed her master because he was going to experiment on her little sister. Feeling that both sides were telling him the truth he decided to tell the devils that he would be dealing with her on his own and that they should leave while he felt generous.

Disregarding the warning they resumed their approach, causing him to smirk before shooting forward with a grin on his face. After smashing into their line he proceeded to kill everyone in the field while shooting down everyone that tried to fly away with a barrage of spells. Once everyone was dead he turned to the Nekoshō, pointing at her ring and asking if she knew what that was. At her confused look he responded that that ring was a gift to his daughter Umbra and that it was the only reason he intervened. Calming down slightly the Nekoshō introduced herself as Kuroka and asked him if he would save his little sister too, which she was forced to leave behind. Without answering her he began tracking her sister through a mixture of scent and senjutsu, finally arriving at the building she was being held. Infiltrating it easily he found out that there was a hearing going on to determine the child's fate, and he took advantage of the ruckus to sneak in the holding cells.

With Shirone in hand he made his way for the exit, only to stop when he ran into a red-haired devil on the way out. Recognising him, Bellerophon produced an intense flash of light and ran away while dodging random arcs of the Power of Destruction. Having slipped into a room with a panicking little girl, Bellerophon grabbed the child and opened a black Dragon Gate towards Kuroka's last position. When they got there the older sister began crying from relief and hugged the white haired Yōkai, with tears in her eyes, before thanking him for helping them. Kneeling on the ground, he put Umbra's ring on Shirone's finger before staring hard at the elder sibling and telling her the small child was the last remnant of his daughter.

This child is the last living remnant of someone very important to me. If she dies or worse, becomes a devil...you won't like what happens.

–Bellerophon to Kuroka

As soon as he delivered his threat he teleported away to resume his trip through the Amazonian Forest. A couple of years later, when he finally reached the tip of Patagonia, Bellerophon decided to visit the land of Egypt, specifically the Pyramids of Giza. Having arrived after dusk he decided to head straight for the monumental tombs under the cover of the night. As he infiltrated the old structure he began looking for hidden rooms or magic sources and although the unfamiliar magic of the place confused his senses, he managed to detect the presence of both. Using a portal to travel to the other side of the wall, Bellerophon found himself face to face with an old Sphinx. The mythological beast immediately turned her gaze towards him, staring for a moment, before he cheerfully asked if they still used to ask riddles to visitors.

I never was, am always to be
No one ever saw me, nor ever will
And yet I am the confidence of all
To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball.

–The Sphinx to Bellerophon

After posing the riddle it sat back on its haunches, waiting for him to either answer or fight. Sitting down he repeated the riddle to himself, pondering its meaning. Eventually he told the beast that the answer was "tomorrow", receiving a nod in response. Seeing the animal lying down in wait he decided to leave it be and took one of the corridors, following its winding nature farther from the surface. After a long while Bellerophon reached a large room, which housed a large black book on a pedestal in its center. Deciding to risk the activation of the inevitable traps he used his telekinesis to reach for the book, but as soon as he lifted it an anti-teleportation field arose and the corridor behind him started shaking furiously, before an avalanche of sand came down from the top of the stairs with the intent of blocking him here. Summoning a barrier at the entrance, Bellerophon spun around and began slashing apart venomous snakes.

When the threat passed he sat down and began reading what he discovered to be the original Book of the Dead. Once he terminated reading the tome and felt reinvigorated from all the knowledge he acquired, Bellerophon was ready to leave when a vision struck him: a young blonde nun being crucified, with black feathers floating around. Once the vision ended he tried to make sense of what he had seen and deduced that he just had a premonition, although he had no clue where or when such a thing could be happening. Deciding to investigate further, he entered a state of deep meditation in hopes of divinating a meaning to his earlier premonition. After he received more flashes and understood where he had to go, Bellerophon used his chronomancy to "restore" his surroundings to how they were before he entered the room.

Part 2[]

A Night to Remember[]

He teleported to a small town in India and decided to scout out the place before the nun arrived while keeping a close eye for any supernatural signatures he might have felt. After finding an abandoned place to occupy for the moment, he donned his Cloak of the Revenant and left towards the local church in order to check its condition, as it was the most likely place for the nun to go to, only to sense numerous exorcist and fallen angel signatures.

Not liking the situation one bit, he decided to go back his apartment after summoning his familiar Skiá, instructing her to keep watch on the fallen angels inside. At dawn he woke up and left for the train station, intent on catching the nun as soon as she arrived. As soon as the young nun dismounted the train a disguised fallen angel approached her, making him sigh. Deciding to see how the situation evolved he bid Skiá to stalk the duo while Bellerophon left in the direction of the Church, intent on finding out what they had planned.

Bellerophon managed to effortlessly infiltrate the old building and overheard their plan to extract the Sacred Gear from the nun come midnight. Once he regrouped with Skiá he teleported into the heart of the Vatican looking for Dulio, who had become an acquaintance over the years, but he instead found Vasco Strada. After telling him what was happening, Bellerophon left his familiar in Vasco's company and returned to the indian church. Just before midnight he reached the church and used his spell Shade, sending the armor forth to engage the targets outside. After watching it propel itself at the sentinels he began sprinting towards the church before shoulder-checking the door, deciding to forgo all subtlety on his way to the nun Asia. As the exorcists were all busy with the Shade he only found a single fallen angel.

After making a smartass comment he bagan walking towards the cross holding the nun but froze with recognition when he saw the fallen, as it was the same one that escaped centuries ago after the massacre of his unit. Overcome with rage, he let out a massive amount of shadowy tendrils in every direction, piercing the walls and furniture to stop anyone from entering or escaping the room while at the same time grabbing hold of her legs to stop her from moving. Seeing as she couldn't cut them even with her light spear, Bellerophon slowly walked towards her while trying to calm himself.

"Remember me? No? We met so long ago after all but I never forgot you. Look closer, peer through these eyes of mine and you shall see your enemy."
"N-no, that's impossible. You coundn't have lived this long. What are you..."
"I? I am the ghost of Christmas past."

–Bellerophon and Raynare

Using his Mystic eyes to let her see him memory of her cutting down his companions, he began interrogating her on the events of both tonight and all those centuries ago, learning that while tonight's events were orchestrated solely by her and her allies that were currently outside fighting against the Shade, her attack on his convoy was actually ordered by Azazel, who wanted him out of the picture before he joined up with the Church and thus Heaven. Cutting down the restraints, he brought the girl down from the crucifix and commanded the Shade and Skiá to dispose of the evidence, before teleporting in front of Dulio and handing him the still shell-shocked nun.

Trusting the man to know what to do with her, Bellerophon decided to go visit Tiamat, who over the course of the years became his love interest and acted as his informant in the Underworld. There he caught up with the scientific publications and books, while putting up with Tiamat's ribbing at his reading habits and his ribbing at her lack thereof.

The Angel of the Stars[]

After returning to Earth he went to a massive library and with a quick application of magic he was granted unrestricted access to all that was contained within. Having lost his sense of time while reading, he felt a missive appear from thin air and land in front of him. His curiosity piqued, he began reading the letter and learned that on Dulio's suggestion he was asked to intercede on behalf of Heaven in a dangerous situation brewing in Japan. Apparently someone attacked several churches and stole the pieces of the Holy Sword Excalibur contained within. Heaven's intelligence indicated the possible culprit as Kokabiel and his possible area of operations at Kuoh Town. Fearing this to be the prelude to the next Great War, they dispatched two exorcists to recon the area.

Reappearing above the tallest building in Kuoh, Bellerophon began scanning the town in order to locate interesting signatures, immediately locating several. Approaching the area without being detected, he saw Kokabiel up in the air while Sirzechs little sister, Rias Gremory, was on the ground with an unknown exorcist. After proclaiming that he would destroy the academy in order to lure Sirzechs out and start a Second Great War, he emitted a strong flash of light and departed in the direction of the complex. Although worried about the collateral damage Kokabiel would cause, Bellerophon was confident that he would play around a little first, thus giving him time. Knowing this he decided to take a risk and summoned Skiá, telling her to locate the other exorcist while he would follow Kokabiel.

Once he arrived he saw Leviathan's sister maintaining a barrier around the school grounds while Rias was inside fighting against several Cerberus. Bypassing the barrier undetected he made his way to the battlefield, where he saw the exorcist Xenovia Quarta fighting the canine. Soon after he felt a Holy presence and saw that several pieces of Excalibur had been shoddily fused into one, along with a massive explosive array on the ground. Recognizing what it was, Bellerophon scowled and decided forego direct intervention in the fight and instead disarm that seal. Feeling a peculiar sensation, he saw that Kiba had obtained his Balance Breaker by forming a Holy-Demonic sword, which Bellerophon knew to be impossible unless the God from the Bible was dead.

While the others took on Kokabiel, Bellerophon disarmed the spell while listening as Kokabiel confirmed that the God from the Bible was dead, just like the original Satans were. The news seemed to shock everyone, with the Church party being the most affected. Seeing their will to fight crumble, Bellerophon finally decided to intervene and take on Kokabiel by himself. Summoning a spear of cursed fire and shadow, he slammed the tip in the ground and dragged it on the asphalt to attract the cadre's attention.

Hey...was that seal you handywork? It matters not.

As for you, my dear little crow, it has been far too long since I had a proper death match. Are you feeling up for the fight of your life? Not that it makes any difference.

–Bellerophon to Kokabiel

Bellerophon leap at the fallen angel, who parried his thrusts with a lightsword of his own before jumping over a sweeping blow and slamming his blade on the dark weapon, sending its wielder crashing through the nearby wall. Throwing an air conditioner as a distraction, Bellerophon lunged from the fissure at full speed and engaged the fallen angel with a frenzied array of stabs until he shattered the lightsword and cut off a pair of wings, which allowed the cursed fire to spread to the rest of them before being put out.

Letting his opponent retreat, Bellerophon settled the flaming weapon on his shoulders and tauntingly proclaimed to have drawn first blood. Seeing the other was ready to jump him again with vigor he took the opportunity to ask him why he decided to waste so much time instead of killing the devils immediately, and the fallen somewhat reluctantly admitted that he wasn't expecting someone on his level to jump in and save them. Amused by the accusation, Bellerophon outright denied that he was there to save the devils and only decided to intervene when he learned that the Cadre was planning to destroy the town. Deciding to finish this with a single blow, Bellerophon settled down into a crouched stance with the spear in his right hand.

Accept this blow as a gift for a man about to die.

–Bellerophon to Kokabiel

Leaping forward, he was upon the fallen angel in a heartbeat but despite having reduced his mobility with the cursed fire, Kokabiel still put up a block capable of deflecting the spear. Smiling from joy, Bellerophon decided to switch target and slashed his speartip at the cadre's wrist, cutting it off, before reinforcing his arm with tōki and impaling it through the cadre's chest. Watching the light fade from his eyes, Bellerophon sealed his body away for study. Not a moment later the barrier surrounding the complex was breached and a white armored figure flew through. Sensing the demonic aura coming from him and recognizing the armor design, his expression lost its joviality.

{{So this is the current holder of Divine Dividing. To think a Heavenly Dragon got stuck in a filthy devil...just looking at you makes my skin itch. Regrettably, I have more pressing concerns than dealing with you. Be thankful mongrel for you won't die today.|Bellerophon to Vali}}

The Peace Summit[]

After a few days he received another missive from Heaven, asking him to be present in Kuoh for the investigation that was taking place, and decided to investigate on his own the current situation between the factions. The letter went on to explain that there would be a meeting between the higher ups of the Biblical Factions to formalize a peace agreement but also to dissuade the other pantheons from warring against them in case news of Yahweh's death came out.

After he finished reading he went to speak with Ophis and make sure she had no plans for the meeting, to which she said that she didn't care about it. After sharing with her a bag of sweets he bought on his way back, the two once again conversed for a while before he decided to sleep until the time of the meeting.

The day of the meeting Bellerophon teleported on the rooftop of the academy and sat down against a wall. As the conference progressed he studied the signatures of those present, feeling two Seraphs, two Satans, a powerful Fallen Angel and the White Dragon Emperor. His observations were cut when he sensed mages setting up a barrier outside the academy, making him grin.

Ancalagon-smirk

Bellerophon's malevolent smile.

Feeling the barrier solidifying around the building and a form of time-stopping power setting around the area, Bellerophon identified it as the power as the Sacred Gear Forbidden Balor View and used his Chronomancy to nullify its effects on him. Soon after he felt a magic circle opening in the room, spawning an Ultimate-Class devil who caused the building to explode, but not before the other occupants cast a barrier around themselves. While she talked to the leaders and revealed her faction's plans for them and the world, Bellerophon opened up with a volley of bombardment spells and took advantage of her distraction to create a portal, entering his arm and making it reappear on Katarea's stomach, before detonating a ball of energy against her skin and causing her to crash through a nearby building. Equipping his Abyssal Armor he channelled his umbrakinesis and guided the shadows towards Katerea, who took flight and started raining spells on him.

Seeing as they were having no effect despite a few of them making contact with his form, Katerea raised her palm up and was quickly enveloped by black snakes, which Bellerophon recognized as Ophis'. Leviathan's follow-up attack was much more intense, blasting torrents of magical energy towards Bellerophon. Seemingly unperturbed, Bellerophon summoned and mounted Skiá before blasting off in the sky, chased by the serpentine black blasts. After a brief chase he shot them down before chasing after Katerea, who seemed to have trouble keeping up with Skiá's speed and ability to camouflage herself.

While he made passage after passage at her, chipping away at her body with blades of darkness, the barrier around the school went down, which distracted his opponent enough to give Skiá an opening to accelerate and bite her arm off. As he turned around her remaining her arm transformed into tendrils and latched onto his left arm, which unseated him and caused her to laugh while declaring that she wouldn't die alone.

Mana-Burst

Bellerophon releasing flames from his body.

Recognizing the self destruct spell, Bellerophon began chuckling before he exploded in flames, watching her body burn as he mockingly told her that her borrowed time was over before using senjutsu to cut off the energy in her transformed arm and freeing himself.

Hell Needle Shower

Bellerophon's using Hell Needle Shower on the flying troops.

Noticing the aerial troops and lamenting the incompetence of Albion's tenant, he smirked, grabbed Katerea's scorched form by the face and threw her at them. Bellerophon traced a white line in front of him, which shattered and shot out as innumerable shards of light, overwhelming their defences and killing them. Before he could settle down he twisted around and blocked a blow from the White Dragon Emperor with his armored forearm, before firing a multitude of spells after him to create distance. He did not shift his eyes from Vali as Azazel asked him if he was part of Khaos Brigade, which Vali confirmed as true.

After telling everyone that he was a descendant of the original Lucifer, Vali began taunting Bellerophon who answered by generating a massive dome of magical circles around the Devil. Their confrontation was interrupted by a monkey Yōkai, who proclaimed himself Sun Wukong's descendant before taking Vali and teleporting away. With the fight over Bellerophon went back to Aetherius.

Young Devil's Gathering[]

After informing Ophis about the actions of one of her cronies, hoping to impress on her the importance of what happened, he settled down and asked her when Albion's tenant joined Khaos Brigade, among other things. Sometime later Bellerophon decided to visit Tiamat and learned that there would be a gathering between the young devils, and although she obviously wouldn't participate she told him that Tannin would. Deciding to scout the meeting place out of boredom, the night of the gathering he showed up to meet with Tannin. As soon as he sensed Rias' and Sona's peerages arriving he melted in the shadows, speeding off towards the location of the meeting completely undetected.

As soon as he arrived at the hotel he decided to challenge himself to pass the entire evening without being detected by the devils. After a few hours of squatting on the ceiling he was fairly disappointed to notice that the only one to notice him was Tannin, looked extremely amused at the whole thing. His game was cut short the moment he sensed two powerful Yōkai outside the building, recognizing the presences as Kuroka and Bikō. His interest piqued Bellerophon decided to go towards the exit. It didn't take him long to reach the clearing where the black-haired Nekoshō was waiting and he decided to entertain himself by taking her by surprise. Vaulting over the tree branches until he was right above her's, he plopped down and greeted her with enthusiasm, holding his laughter when he saw her nearly shooting off the branch in fright.

Not recognising him with his Cloak of the Revenant on, Kuroka erected a barrier and flooded the forest with a magical mist created with senjutsu, which he easily countered with hhis own. Kuroka then created copies of herself with yōjutsu before attacking his caped form with senjutsu bullets, which he handily dodged until her companion appeared from behind and engaged him with his staff. Doing his utmost to fend him off with Dragonfang despite the handicap the cloak gave him, Bellerophon was eventually forced to disengage them and appear a distance away. Once the fighting stopped Bikō commented that he was unable to sense him even with senjutsu and Bellerophon thanked him for the compliment, before turning to Kuroka and wondering aloud if this was the kind of greeting he deserved.

Her eyes immediately widened when he uncovered his head and she sked him why he was here. Tracing some runes on the ground, Bellerophon removed his cloak and told them that he was here on a whim, before asking them the same question. When she didn't answer him he turned to the other and asked him how the old monkey was doing these days, receiving a surprised look before he put on an eager expression, wondering if Bellerophon was another of his pupils and receiving a nod in return. The conversation was interrupted by the appearance of a descendant of King Arthur, who wielded of Collbrande. Calling them to himself he nodded to Bellerophon before leaving the area by slashing space and entering the fissure.

The Old Satan Faction[]

Several days later, after receiving a missive from Dulio, he teleported to the Vatican and was asked to watch over the angelified Asia and Irina when they'd be sent to Kuoh, in exchange for having access to Azazel's research on Sacred Gears. A few days after the angel duo arrived at the Academy a devil named Diodora Astaroth approached Asia and confessed his love and wish to marry her for saving his life. As the devil reached for her hand, Bellerophon appeared close to them and grabbed the appendage, snapping the devil's wrist and sending him kneeling before placing a finger on his forehead.

Who gave you permission to approach her, mongrel? Get out of my sight this instant or suffer the consequences.

–Bellerophon to Diodora Astaroth

Ancalagon-Pride

Bellerophon looking down on Diodora.

Forcing Diodora to leave and leaving the others in a confused state, he refused to elaborate on the matter beyond telling them to keep their eyes on him. Once they got to the intended destination, a mansion outside of town, they found Rias and her group, together with Azazel, studying the rating game that had been held between Diodora and Seekvaira Agares. While studying the recording he noticed a familiar power-up enveloping Diodora, which made him scowl. Bellerophon glance at Azazel who reacted much the same way.

The day of Rias' rating game Bellerophon placed a Runic Stone in Asia's robes, set to signal him if Asia was ever in danger. When Rias' group entered the magic circle that would transport them to the arena he felt something off and realized that Khaos Brigade was acting, having trapped them all inside a dimension created through the Sacred Gear Dimension Lost. Before he could go after Asia and Irina, he felt Ophis' presence and decided that it took precedence, taking off in her direction to confront her. When he reached her position he was met with the sight of Azazel, Tannin and Sirzechs getting ready to face off with Ophis and Creuserey Asmodeus. Just as Sirzechs engaged the other devil, Bellerophon approached Ophis and asked her what she was planning, before being told by her that she was only spectating. Seeing the familiarity between the two Azazel entered the Balance Breaker state of an unknown Sacred Gear, followed by Tannin who looked ready to explode at him in anger.

Just as they were ready to come to blows Bellerophon felt Asia's runic stone activating and he teleported there. Seeing her unconscious form being tethered to an unknown device, with Diodora busy connecting her to it, he grabbed the back of the Devil's outfit and hurled him behind himself. As soon as she was freed Rias' peerage arrived and engaged Diodora' own group, while he woke up the reincarnated angel. Just as he was about to leave he sensed a powerful demonic presence heading their way, before he saw Asia being enveloped by light and disappearing.

Just as he was about to lunge at the newly arrived Shalba Beelzebub he noticed that the connection to Asia's runic stone was still present and he teleported away, only to find an unconscious Asia floating inside the Dimensional Gap. Just as he reached her he found himself face to face with Vali, Bikō and Arthur. Remembering that Asia couldn't survive for long inside the gap he settled for glowering at them before leaving towards Irina's position. Once he arrived he found himself confronted by a barely alive group of devils and Shalba, who was holding Irina's defeated form by the throat.

The Dragon-Blooded Knight leapt at him, forcing Shalba to drop the angel to evade the blow, and bombarded the area with light spears until he couldn't feel the devil's presence anymore. Feeling Vali's group teleporting nearby he prepared for a fight but was interrupted when he sensed Great Red appearing through a hole in the dimension, with the recently arrived Vali proclaiming that it was both his and Ophis' aim to defeat him.

Immediately after this declaration Ophis appeared as well, followed by Tannin and Azazel, who was pointing a light spear at her, who looked unconcerned before approaching Bellerophon and jumping on his shoulders, to everyone's shock and confusion. Making an exaggerated sigh, Bellerophon proclaimed his job was done and bid everyone goodbye before vanishing together with the diminutive Dragon God.

The Norse Faction[]

Several days later Bellerophon decided to visit Göndul and her niece Rossweisse, but when he got there he was immediately attacked by an elderly Göndul, who seemed particularly irate at him. When he finally got too close to her house the old woman switched to her spear, which he countered with Dragonfang. After disarming the old valkyrie he learned that she was informed by Odin that he had joined Khaos Brigade, much to his consternation. Once he managed to calm her down he explained that he was friends with Ophis, but not her subordinate or member of her group. In the meantime Odin appeared at the woman's house only to find Bellerophon there, who quickly defused the situation by getting him to sit down and explain his connection to the Ouroboros Dragon.

Once the god was placated, Odin decided to tell him that he'd be going to Japan on official business soon and that he'd better be present as his official escort to explain his stance to everyone else. Telling him that he didn't care what they thought of him, the two began snarking and trash talking like usual, before switching targets and ribbing Rossweisse about her love life, much to her displeasure.

When they finally got to Kuoh town, Bellerophon and Rossweisse had to follow Odin when he decided to go to the Red Light district, with Baraqiel following behind while glowering at everyone that crossed his path. Once they arrived at Rias' mansion they were escorted to the VIP lounge, where Akeno served tea while Rias kept glaring, much to his amusement. After Odin and Azazel left, Bellerophon plopped down on a sofa and began studying the tomes Gabriel gave him. Several days later he received a message from Rossweisse telling him that they had been attacked by Loki and Fenrir, requesting his support for when the duo would attack again.

When they finally got back to Rias' house, Bellerophon noted that Vali's team and Sona's Peerage were also there. He was also introduced to Albion, who had been informed about him by one of Draig's tenants. Disregarding Vali's stare, the discussion soon switched to what strategy to employ against Loki and Fenrir, with Bellerophon declaring that he'd take Loki on his own while leaving the other to the rest of them before he left the room. Later that evening he learned from Kuroka that the others used a Dragon Gate to summon Midgardsormr's consciousness in order to obtain information on how to stop the Norse god and his divine wolf, before she thanked him for helping them all those years ago.

The day of the fated confrontation everyone assembled above the rooftops of Kuoh while the diplomats were discussing things with the Shinto faction, and as soon as Loki and Fenrir appeared everyone was transported inside a special barrier in order to fight them. Once there Bellerophon sped forth and punched Loki with all his power, causing the god to fly away before rushing after him, trusting the others to keep Fenrir at bay. As soon as he reached Loki they started exchanging volleys of magical blasts but despite the difference in power between the two his combat experience allowed him to close the distance and overwhelm Loki in melee. After slashing his stomach and kneeing him in the gut, Bellerophon pummeled him against a cliff.

Was that truly all you could accomplish? And you have the temerity to proclaim yourself a deity? Preposterous.

–Bellerophon to Loki

Bellerophon prepared himself to fire Etherion at the Trickster but by focusing so much on the spell he didn't notice the form of Fenrir that were barrelling against him until he bit into his armor. Realising that he couldn't free himself before the enchanted dragonbone gave in, Bellerophon made the armor eject him, saving his Avatar at the price of letting the armor be destroyed. With his left arm torn off by Fenrir's jaws, Bellerophon cursed himself for trusting the others to keep the wolf away from his master.

Ancalagon- Truth Idea

Bellerophon using the True Longinus Götterdämmerung

With Loki having found his second wind, Bellerophon saw no other choice but to activate his Balance Breaker. Getting on his feet, he ignored the laughter of the Norse god and summoned his spear, invoking the True Longinus Götterdämmerung. Immediately his form was enveloped by blinding light, which forced everyone to look away. When it abated it revealed his fully healed body, cloaked by a white and black garnment, with his hair having lenghtened and turned white while his iris lost all color.

Do you know what I had to go through for that armor? You will rue this day, wolf.

–Bellerophon to Fenrir

Arrogantly declaring round two, Bellerophon formed seven spheres of holy light behind him, which destroyed the cliff Loki and Fenrir were resting on by blasting it with concentrated beams of light. Taking advantage of the dust cloud, Bellerophon flew towards Loki, keeping Fenrir at bay with his spheres, and grabbed his face before blasting off towards the other group to check on Rossweisse, grinding the god against the rocky terrain all the while. When he got there he kicked Loki's flank, which sent him crashing in the lake. While healing Rossweisse, Kuroka managed to bind Fenrir with the chain Gleipnir.

Golden Sword of Firmament

Bellerophon using the Golden Sword of Rupture

When he noticed the forms of Sköll and Hati that were barrelling against him, he slammed their undersides with the spheres and threw them in the air. Afterwards he sacrificed two spheres to invoked the Golden Sword of Rupture, he brought it down on them, destroying them completely as well as creating a fissure in the dimension. Refocusing on Loki just as he was charging an attack, Bellerophon used his godspeed to evade the beam and fly after him, delivering a kick that embedded him on a nearby rock formation.

Seeing as his opponent was about to pass out he decided to finish him by shaping one of the spheres into a cable and wrapping it around Loki's neck. Turning his attention to Fenrir, he flew straight for Kuroka in order to get his hands on Gleipnir. As soon as he grabbed it from a stupefied Kuroka, he turned around and wrapped it around the wolf's airborne form, sending it crashing a short distance away. With his enemy firmly tied for the moment, Bellerophon began delivering it a beatdown, breaking the wolf's body thoroughly but leaving it alive. Huffing, he recovered Gleipnir and teleported away, unwilling to deal with the fallout.

Continuation of the Dream[]

Bellerophon went looking for Ophis to make sure that Loki was acting on his own but caught sight of Great Red nearby and decided to go talk to him instead. When he found him he saw the True Dragon performing his usual tricks and after catching sight of him Great Red stopped and rudely asked if he was here to fight again, with Bellerophon telling him no and informing him that Khaos Brigade was finally beginning to move. His warning given the two drifted apart, with Great Red resuming his stunts and Bellerophon waiting for Ophis to return. After several days spent in meditation, during which he ignored the True Dragon's ceaseless noise, the duo felt a powerful calling. With their curiosity piqued they decided to focus their attention on the phenomenon and Bellerophon realised that the summoning call was for the Great Red, with Draig's and Vritra's powers fluxing on the other side together with many other signatures he didn't recognise.

Having decided to answer the call himself, Bellerophon latched on to the signal and let himself be summoned. The fights temporarily stopped when he emerged from the Magic circle, to the surprise of everyone involved. It didn't last long as the Red Dragon Emperor Cao Cao recognised him as the man that defeated Loki, revealing to him that he had meant to contact him sooner but couldn't find him. The two of them spoke while the others recuperated and eventually Cao Cao offered him to join them in their endeavour.

My curiosity has been piqued, although regrettably I must deny your offer as you are laboring under a fallacy. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly support your venture.

–Bellerophon to Cao Cao

Refusing the offer with a smile on his face, Bellerophon summoned Dragonfang and asked if there was anyone interested in fighting him. His eyes zeroed in on Siegfried, commenting that it's been a while since he had a decent sword fight. Deciding to test his enemy he engaged the swordsman Siegfried and invoked the "Duel Field", Dragonfang's special ability which creates a separate dimension outside of time and cut off from the surrounding environment. With the field deployed, he explained to Siegfried that the only way out is for one of them to defeat the other, but as a condition they may only use swords to attack.

Bellerophon found himself enjoying his duel with Siegfried a great deal, finding himself hard-pressed by the six swords his opponent was using. Eventually though Gram's destructive slashes and its dragonslayer ability caused one of Dragonfang's prongs to snap. Guessing that it wouldn't be long before he was disarmed and lamenting the loss of another of his armaments, Bellerophon decided to take one of the enemies own blades to make up for it. Leaping forward at full speed, he batted aside every sword and injured the arm holding Gram, grabbing it just as his blade broke, releasing the Duel Field.

Siegfried was about to reengage but Cao Cao called him back and took his place against Bellerophon, who readied himself with Gram. Taking full advantage of the dragonslayer blade, Bellerophon managed to slice apart his opponents long range attacks and by using chronomancy he closed the distance and slashed at his face, cutting the helmet and injuring his right eye. Enraged, Cao Cao began chanting but was interrupted by Siegfried, who pulled him back until they retreated. Exhausted, he gave a look towards Cao Cao, telepathically greeting Draig, before the Hero Faction teleported away. Grinning, he turned around and greeted his old teachers, Sun Wukong and Yu Long, before teleporting away himself.

Several days later, during his meditation, he received a vision and recognised the gods Indra and Hades as well as a golden armor resembling the Balance Breaker Scale Mail of the Boosted Gear. Remembering that Rias' group was supposed to fight against Sairaorg Bael, he concluded that the presence of those two gods definitely warranted his own.

The day of the fight Bellerophon hid himself while observing the stadium from the shadows. He could feel the presence of many deities, including some from the Greek Pantheon, Indra and Odin. As Sairaorg's match proceeded Bellerophon approached Indra undetected and heard the King of Gods brazenly declare to Azazel that he knew about Cao Cao and the Boosted Gear's whereabouts but opted to do nothing about it. He then warned Azazel to mind his own business lest he began minding Azazel's. After the fallen angel left the area Bellerophon approached Indra and told the Hindu deity that the boots he gave him were excellent, causing the god to stare uncomprehendingly at his face for a moment before bursting in laughter.

The Trio Became Duo[]

Having learned everything he needed on the inner workings of Gleipnir and the recently acquired Balmung, he put them back inside their dimensional sleeves and went looking for Ophis, but once there he saw Vali and his team speaking to her, only for her to turn her head towards him and greet him with a small smile. Raising an eyebrow at her, Ophis told him that she wanted to speak to Vritra, who had just reawakened inside a devil in Sona's peerage. Frowning at her he asked why she'd want to speak to that dragon and she answered that she wanted to ask him about Bellerophon, receiving an angry glare in return.

Hmph, as if that stupid lizard would know anything...bah, your time is free for you to waste as you wish.

–Bellerophon to Ophis

Before she departed with Kuroka and Le Fay Pendragon, Bellerophon gave Ophis a Runic Stone in case anything happened. Once she left he confronted Vali on his true intentions, receiving a smirk before he told him that she would be targeted by Cao Cao and that he planned to lure him out, making a mention of a supposed "Dragon Eater" the human had in his possession. Skeptical that Cao Cao could truly get his hands on Samael, who should still be sealed in Cocytus, Bellerophon realised that if true he couldn't carelessly approach the beast lest his body died.

A few days later he felt Ophis' beacon flare up and decided to get there already in his demigod state, which reduced his draconic powers to almost zero by channelling exclusively his divine energy. Although he found access more difficult than usual to Ophis' location, he still managed to break through the world created via Dimension Lost and immediately used his chronokinesis to accelerate time around himself in order to calmly assess the situation and formulate a plan.

He saw Ophis being held inside a black construct connected to Samael and felt her powers decreasing fast. The Gremory and Vali's teams were almost out of the fight, with Vali incapacitated on the ground while a one-eyed Cao Cao wore his Balance Breaker. His course set, Bellerophon accelerated his body and slammed directly on the thing holding Ophis while at the same time generating a massive sandstorm on the entire area. Feeling Samael's curse still draining his draconic powers even in his demigod state, Bellerophon grabbed the prison while channelling his psammokinesis, causing the object to disintegrate.

Before Georg could force Samael fully to retract its tongue he extended his arm of sand and grabbed it, jerking it viciously and tearing the being away from the summoning circle beneath it. As soon as it landed in front of him he slammed his foot against the cross, caving in the ground underneath and crushing Samael's midsection, before he enveloped the creature in a cocoon of sand and proceeded to crush and shred it, leaving only blood and guts behind.

Turning towards Cao Cao he was hit with a punch enhanced by "Penetrate", which blew apart his shoulder before it reformed in a handful of seconds, making the human decide to unleash his Longinus Smasher and take advantage of his distraction to teleport away. Although the attack damaged him, Bellerophon could feel the sand already filling the cracks, although the process was slower than usual, and as he still felt Cao Cao inside the barrier he decided to not pursue them immediately. Heading towards Ophis he sensed the influx of a great number of grim reapers near the humans' location, concluding that Hades allied himself with Khaos Brigade and lent the Hero Faction Samael.

When Hades' minions charged their group, Azazel engaged Pluto while Bellerophon guarded Ophis, crushing with his sand anything that came close to them. Feeling his body weakening he noticed that his sand was saturated with Samael's blood and concluded that his body wouldn't survive for long, as he'd be forced to shut the Divine Dragon Coffin Seal to prevent the poison from coming into contact with his real body. Sighing, he gave Ophis a pointed look and telepathically asked her if she was satisfied with what she learned.

Suddenly he noticed the presence of Shalba Beelzebub, who he thought dead, only for him to declare his intention to wage war on everyone before unveiling the wielder of Annihilation Maker from underneath his robes and forcing him into a Balance Breaker state, which created several titanic monsters that he teleported to the Underworld. As the dimension started collapsing the human trio summoned a magic circle to teleport away but Bellerophon managed to redirect them elsewhere and followed them.

As soon as he arrived he deployed a Red Lightning Formation barrier around the area before forming a massive sand pit underneath everyone, which immediately swallowed Leonardo. Rushing towards Cao Cao he used chronokinesis to dodge his punch and landed a hit to his abdomen, which cracked his armor and propelled him away. Opening a portal to his right, Bellerophon entered his arm and grabbed Georg's neck, pulling him through the portal and knocking him unconscious. Choking out Leonardo with his sand, Bellerophon pulled his unconscious body to himself and after placing suspended animation runes on him and Gearg, he dropped them inside one of his portals before he ran after Cao Cao.

Slowly pushing him through his limits, Bellerophon was confident that he could force him to release his armor even with his body close to dying, but just as he was about to go for the kill, Cao Cao removed his eye patch, transferring his boosts to the eye of Medusa underneath. Feeling even his sand body solidifying into a single block, Bellerophon let out a last laugh and with a joyful expression he commended the human on being the first to ever kill him, before relinquishing control of the petrified shell.

Strangely entertained by the thought of having died, Bellerophon awaited for the seal's inner dimension to collapse and release him in the Dimensional Gap. A few days later he made his way to Aetherius with Georg and Leonardo's bodies and found Ophis waiting for him. Making sure she was fine despite having lost a good part of her power, he picked her up into a hug and kissed her cheek, ignoring the pleased smile on her face.

Grabbing the humans they relocated to the Citadel, where he removed the Sacred Gears from their bodies with the intent of studying them thoroughly, convinced that letting this much power in the hands of a single human was a recipe for disaster, as the recent events showed. Once he believed himself to have a sufficient grasp of their concepts, Bellerophon integrated Dimension Lost into himself while he grafted two smaller fragments into the Alveus and Chaoseater, allowing the blade to feed directly on the stored energy within.

Strangers in the Night[]

After making sure the systems were stable he left Aetherius and went to visit Rossweisse, with whom he began to discuss the more obscure spells and magic styles they knew of. Eventually she built up enough courage to broach the subject of reincarnation, namely Rias' offer to turn her into a devil. Dropping the smile on his face, he gave her a sharp stare and stayed silent for a while before he asked her thoughts on the subject. Realising that the real issue was that she felt her benefits as a Valkyrie were insufficient to take care of both herself and her grandmother, he advised her to look for another position that would grant her the benefits she was looking for without compromising herself.

Thanking him for his advice but still looking down, he decided to cheer her and, after asking her to keep it a secret between the two of them, Bellerophon brought her to the lunar portal and they entered Aetherius. During the following days he showed her around and discussed with Rossweisse potential plans and improvements to apply in the near future, including a way to use Annihilation Maker to automatically produce sentinels.

A week after returning from their trip she announced him that she would be sent to Kuoh as a liaison to the Biblical Factions and he congratulated her on her achievement, before deciding to accompany her there to get a feel for the current events. Once they arrived in the middle of the night they were met by Griselda, who came to visit Xenovia. During their talk they were interrupted by an escort of vampires, who came asking for Gasper's help in exchange for a peace treaty with them once the current situation was resolved, while revealing that the other side possessed the current user of Sephiroth Graal. Forcing out a cruel laugh Bellerophon decided to speak his mind.

So...one of the Longinus was in the hands of the vampires all along!?
The mere idea that a Holy Relic, the Sephiroth Graal at that, has been tainted and abused by your ilk makes my skin crawl...I believe it's high time I paid you a visit.

–Bellerophon to Elmenhilde Karnstein

When he was finished he teleported towards Romania. Once there he sensed a powerful draconic presence flying towards him, which prompted him to transition to his dragonoid form before he clashed against Grendel. With no time to waste, he engaged the other dragon with his body coated in a flaming aura, which greatly damaged Grendel until he summoned the True Longinus and decapitated him, thus resuming his flight.

Just before he reached the castle Crom Cruach appeared before him and began attacking him in earnest, intent on finishing their fight from long ago. During their clash he told him that both Rizevim Livan Lucifer and the other Ophis were present at the castle, together with the user of Sephiroth Graal. Realising the urgency of the situation, Bellerophon sealed Crom inside a Red Lightning Formation before apologising and accelerating towards the castle, smashing through the walls on his way.

Once inside he met Marius Tepes just as he finished extracting the Sephiroth Graal from Valerie Tepes, and Bellerophon blew his head off with a light spear, only to watch in fascination as it regenerated perfectly. While the man gloated he strolled up to the vampire and ripped the golden cup from him, along with his arm, before vaporising him.

Just as he was about to destroy the castle he sensed Rizevim approaching with Lilith from one direction while another group came from the opposite one. When they got there Rizevim cheerfully explained Khaos Brigade's ultimate plan to unleash Trihexa, defeat Great Red and assault another dimension. The mention of Trihexa got him extremely interested and the prospect of fighting someone on the same level as Great Red excited him, but ultimately he felt the chaos and destruction the Imperial Beast would unleash on the world would be too much. He noticed that Lilith kept staring at him and he couldn't help but notice that she looked exactly the same as Ophis, except her eye color was violet like his own and her hair more spiky, concluding that Samael must have absorbed some of his power too before dying.

Ancalagon-Meteor

Heavenly Insertion Hammering Star.

Realising that only Rizevim's group knew where the beast was held, Bellerophon decided to wait until its location became known before killing the Super Devil. While Rizevim was distracted by Vali, who started raining spells on him in anger, Bellerophon approached Lilith and they started talking. Having had a lot of practice with Ophis, he managed to convince their mutual spawn to leave the devil's side and come with him to meet her other half. Right before they left he invoked the Heavenly Insertion Hammering Star, which called forth a humongous meteor upon the castle that proceeded to destroy the surrounding area.

Trouble in Paradise[]

A few days after having brought Ophis and Lilith to Aetherius, Bellerophon was checking over a new iteration of the quasi-mechanical guardian force in charge of protecting Aetherius in his absence, the Aetherius Sentinel. When he was about to power down the being he felt Gabriel's necklace giving off a pulse and he reluctantly decided to interrupt his work and go check. After warning Ophis that he was going out, he passed through the lunar portal and tried to use a Dragon Gate to get there, only to find that he couldn't reach her in Heaven. Realising that she wouldn't call him from somewhere he couldn't reach, he reflected on the implication of the act and as found no good reason for it, he opened a rip in the space-time fabric leading to her location.

Once there he found her with the other Seraphs holding the gateway of Sixth Heaven and asked her what happened. Learning that Qlippoth was attacking Heaven he set off towards the location of the Garden of Eden, which was the most probable entry point considering its connection to both Purgatory and Limbo, which meant that Hades once more aided Khaos Brigade. As soon as he reached Fourth Heaven he had to defend himself from Crom Cruach, who lunged at him like a man possessed while shouting that they wouldn't be interrupted this time.

While the two of them fought he kept throwing glances around and saw Rizevim smugly beating around them members of DxD along with an armorless Cao Cao, which made him raise his eyebrow. Summoning the True Longinus he blocked Crom Cruach's kick while firing a blast of light from its tip towards the Super Devil, and watching it dispel before it reached him. Dematerialising the spear he shifted into his demigod state and engaged both Crom and Rizevim at the same time, trying to grab the latter's limbs in an effort to pull him close but finding his efforts thwarted by the Evil Dragon.

The stalemate was interrupted when Micheal engaged Rizevim alongside the Outraged Fafnir, allowing Bellerophon to concentrate on Crom Cruach who in the meantime transformed into his dragon form. Partway through their duel he noticed that he couldn't sense Rizevim anymore and deduced that he had managed to escape. Growing angry he renewed his assault against Crom Cruach, forcing the surrounding angels to flee the area. Realising that the fight was escalating he deployed a White Void Sphere around themselves before his body exploded, revealing his true form to Crom Cruach.

In his anger he swatted at Crom with a clawed hand and nearly shattered his body, leaving him unmoving on the ground. With the fight over Bellerophon shapeshifted into his humanoid form and covered his body in seals, knowing that he didn't have the time to create a new body while maintaining the barrier that transported them into Aetherius. As soon as they found themselves back in Heaven he used his senjutsu to try and repair some of the damage he caused to Crom Cruach's body.

When the Irish Dragon finally managed to sit up after transforming back to his human form he asked him if he could always do that and Bellerophon gave him a tiny smirk, before confirming that he could but explaining that he doesn't like using it because it doesn't let him fight anyone but Great Red with it. Getting up he joked that one day they'll manage to have an actual rematch before he walked up to Micheal and Gabriel, who finished checking up on the members of DxD. Asking them what Qlippoth was looking for, Micheal told him that Rizevim was looking for the apples from the tree of Eden.

Some time later he decided to visit Tiamat to keep her appraised on the general situation, including his construction of Aetherius and the location of the lunar portal in case she wanted to ever move over. During his visit the Dragon King informed him that Skiá had laid an egg but that the air of the Underworld was bad for its maturation and could possibly rot it away before it even hatched. Telling him that Tannin was currently taking care of that, he thanked her and went looking for him. Once he found him the old dragon-turned-devil explained than he gave the egg to DxD since the human world had the best conditions for the hatching of a Spectre Dragon and they could protect it.

Taking his leave he went looking for Skiá before teleporting with her to Kuoh to inspect the situation and found both Ophis and Lilith staring at the egg inside Koneko's room in Rias' house. When asked what the were doing Ophis responded that she never saw a dragon hatch before and was curious, with Lilith nodding along. Deciding to take advantage of the situation he searched for Rossweisse, who told him the current on-goings after the attack on Heaven and that a splinter group of the Church lead by Vasco Strada, who became dissatisfied with how the angels allied with both the devils and the vampires, was now looking for a confrontation with DxD.

Ancalagon-casual

Bellerophon spectating the battle.

Deciding to leave Ophis and Lilith be for the time being, he decided to go and spectate the fights between the two groups as soon as they started. Although witnessing the abilities of Dulio's Balance Breaker was extremely interesting, he found himself more drawn by the skills shown by Vasco Strada, who was effortlessly engaging the rest of DxD with abilities he never expected from an 87-year-old human. As soon as the fight between Vasco and Arthur finished he began clapping and praised the swordsmen's abilities before refocusing his sharp gaze on Xenovia and ordered her to face off against the old exorcist.

During the following fight he sensed the approaching presence of the witch Walburga but decided to hide in wait. Once she got there he appeared behind her as she was distracted by the others and used a senjutsu strike to put her out of commission. As soon as he kicked her unconscious form towards Dulio he noticed that a small purple flame remained on the ground and recognised it as the independent Longinus Incinerate Anthem. Picking up the Sacred Gear he nodded towards Vasco and left the area.

Once he got back to DxD's base he was met with the sight of Ophis and Lilith hugging the egg while a healed Crom Cruach was standing with his back to the wall, seemingly waiting. Shrugging his shoulders at the oddness, he dropped off a few bags of food he acquired and sat back on a couch, deciding to begin studying Incinerate Anthem and quickly realising that he had little use for it, considering his abilities with both fire and holy element allowed him to partially recreate its effects already.

A few hours later Azazel entered the room and asked to speak with him alone and after throwing a glance at the others he rose up and followed the Fallen Angel, wondering what he wanted from him. Once they reached an empty room Bellerophon cast a silencing rune and sat down on a chair with a smirk, nodding for the other man to do the same. After a few moments Azazel cut to the chase and asked him to actively help against Qlippoth before they could awaken Trihexa instead of occasionally showing up and sowing chaos, but Bellerophon retorted by asking him why he should help in the first place, as rogue devils were something their alliance should clean up on their own.

Suddenly he was struck by a thought and told Azazel that he would assist in exchange for giving him custody of Jeanne from the Hero Faction, who was imprisoned after the attack on Ophis. With a narrowed gaze Azazel asked him why he should do that but Bellerophon ignored the question by stating that it was the price for his collaboration. Mulling over it for a time, Azazel finally acquiesced his request and gave him the coordinates for the base, calling ahead to tell them Bellerophon would come by to pick up a prisoner. Shaking the Fallen's hand Bellerophon created a portal and stepped through it, emerging in front of the holding facility.

As soon as the gates opened he entered and was met with the sight of the same Cadre he had met long ago in England, Penemue, although it didn't look like she recognised him. On their way there he cracked a crude remark which finally broke the ice, only for her to retort with an even cruder reply. Cackling, the duo walked down the hallways with increasingly darker humor, innuendo's and the occasional flirt following in their wake. As soon as they reached the holding cell he turned to her and told her that she hadn't changed any, and as soon as a confused expression blossomed on her face he equipped his Cloak of the Revenant before giving her a cheeky smile and walking in.

Once inside he closed the door to Penemue's face and placed an array of runes to guarantee their privacy. Turning to the prisoner he noted that Jeanne looked worse for wear and sported a slightly vacant expression on her face, which he decided to partially remedy with senjutsu. Now looking decidedly more aware and wary of him, he removed the hood and asked her if she'd been appraised on the current events. Seeing her shake her head he sighed and proceeded to tell her of what transpired during her incarceration and when he concluded his retelling he asked her a question.

"So, what do you make of this situation? If you were still out there, what would you do? What would the Hero Faction do? If you truly are an hero as you claimed to be, as you all claimed to be, then look me in the eye and tell me your thoughts."
"...I had a lot of time to think recently. I used to think to myself...that being the possessors of a certain hero's bloodline or having a Sacred Gear made us heroes, but we were wrong.
Those who determine who the heroes are...are the people without power. Because they do not possess power they will seek those that do and decide who the heroes are. We all played a game of pretend...after all, we are only human...If I were still out there I think I'd walk my own path, with my head held high, and strive to become the hero the masses claim for. That is my answer."
"...Splendid. The path of the hero is a great labor. Do not ever mar it. You passed my test, Jeanne."

–Bellerophon and Jeanne

Smiling at her incredulous expression, he told her that now they would depart the facility and that he was looking forward to see if she would succeed, before he sobered up and asked her to regroup with her faction as quickly as possible for the final assault drew near. Before leaving he took her hand and closed her fingers around Incinerate Anthem, claiming that it would be ironic for the Maiden of Orléans to possess the power of the burning cross.

The Book of Revelation[]

After leaving the area he went back to Aetherius in order to finalize the designs of the various models of Sentinels and as soon as he was done, Bellerophon inserted the Annihilation Maker inside the Repository and gave it the instructions necessary to start the production of the army that would guard Aetherius in his absence. Satisfied with his work he traversed the lunar portal and teleported to Kuoh to go check the egg, only to be approached by Rias who told him that new intelligence on Qlippoth just came in. Once they reached the main room the debriefing started and Kuroka told everyone that she confirmed the approximate location of Agreas.

As soon as he learned its location he glanced towards Azazel and grinned before walking through a portal that led to Agreas' main plaza, which was swarmed with Evil Dragons, both flying overhead and on the ground. Deciding that this was a good time to test out his own troops, Bellerophon raised his arm at the sky and a black rift with orange borders opened above, letting a few dozen Aetherius Sentinels pour through before ordering them to engage the dragons. Dismissing the Promethean Rupture from which they came through, he equipped the Cloak of the Revenant and slipped by the fighting, admiring the clash of the forces from a nearby roof.

Just as the Sentinels got the hang of how the dragons fought and started pushing them back, he smelled the presence of a nasty dragon nearby. Equipping the Abyssal Armor and the True Longinus, Bellerophon sprinted down the road towards the dragon he recognised as Níðhöggr and introduced himself by extending the shaft of the spear towards him, following up his opponent's dodge with a punch that sent him flying through a line of buildings, and not wasting time he jumped after him. Seeing as the evil dragon couldn't put up much of a fight he decided to finish the fight and stabbed the latter's chest with the True Longinus before firing off a beam of light from its tip, killing him.

Without sparing him another thought he turned around and was sent flying by a heavy hit from behind. Looking back he saw Níðhöggr standing tall without a scratch on his body before he started exuding a black miasma. Recognising the effect of the Phoenix tears, he sprinted towards the Evil Dragon with his spear by his side, evading the rocks thrown up by the latter's ground stomp. Exiting the cloud of dust he stabbed at the dragon, who took the blow with one hand and raised his other arm to smack him to the ground, only to have it restrained by Gleipnir, that came out from a set of portals above him.

Taking advantage of the distraction Bellerophon slashed his spear, cutting off the hand it was stuck into, before he used Etherion point-blank, destroying his body. Taking a moment to recuperate and make sure his opponent was actually dead, Bellerophon headed back towards where he could feel Rizevim's aura, only to feel it disappear. Seeing as the Super Devil left the area and Bellerophon lost interest in continuing further, he sat down on a boulder and went back observing his Sentinels fighting against the dragons. Just as he was about to teleport back to Kuoh he felt Vali's aura flaring against Rizevim's at the edge of his senses and, by concentrating on the area, he noticed a response from the Sephiroth Graal, indicating that Trihexa was nearby.

With a mad grin on his face, he decided to head there and make sure the Super Devil died before the Imperial Beast awoke. Once he arrived he saw that Vali and Azazel were badly hurt while Rizevim still looked relatively fresh. Extending his anti-teleportation field he flew at the latter with his spear extended, only for it to disappear upon contact with his opponent. Not having expected it, Bellerophon took a punch to the side of his chest that sent him crashing on a wall, forcing him to pull back and study the situation. When he heard Azazel telling him that Rizevim could deactivate Sacred Gears and their abilities of they came into contact with him, the devil began taunting him.

Taking the time to ascertain that Trihexa was still sleeping in the next room, Bellerophon started cackling and complimented the devil, saying that his powers were beyond even the highest category of devil. Seeing as Lucifer was playing along, Bellerophon interlaced his hands and positioned the tips of his fingers on his stomach before he gave a sudden jerk with his wrists.

Immediately after his power began to palpably climb and soon his skin started bleeding all over, keeping a disturbing grin on his face while staring unblinking at Rizevim, who had stopped laughing and began firing blasts at his form. Before they connected he gave a scream and his body was enveloped by a thick aura of Holy flames, dispersing the demonic magic. After he passed the level of Heavenly Dragon he began shaking and finally his body burned away, revealing his True form in its shapeshifted state.

Seeing the others pale and break out into a cold sweat, he outstretched his arm by his side and accelerated past Rizevim, tearing through his stomach as he passed with the intention of causing him a lethal wound, thus forcing him to call upon the power of the Sephiroth Graal in his possession to heal himself. When the golden cup finally appeared from a pocket space, Bellerophon flicked his wrist and emitted a blade of light, severing the arm holding the cup before he stomped on the dying man's head, shattering it. Ignoring the other two, he opened a Promethean Rupture and summoned an Armiger variant, commanding it to grab the devil's corpse for further study, Before he walked inside the adjacent room and found a sleeping Trihexa in its middle. When the other two joined him a recording of Rizevim's voice started playing and the Imperial Beast began waking up.
